I have a theory Gwyn-if it don't fit,it's coming straight back!
I have the darkest depths of Wales for 2-3 hours (allows for getting lost, tractors etc!).

The law on TV liceses SAYS

If you have a lock on your door then you need a seperate license for each room .....

BUT if they dont take a television then the common room often has one and you dont need a licence ..

Taff they must get millions from students ,....now remember they CANT use their laptops to watch TV without the license ....BUT they can watch it on this I view ....I think .........................

CHECK

Lol, ... You do realise that you may have to find room for all this equipment at various times through the year?
Daughter had to clear her room at halls during holidays, but they managed to come to an agreement for one holiday and hired a spare room between them and stashed stuff there.
In my experience there is never enough cupboard space for all the kitchen stuff that a new student ( or Mum) thinks they'll need.... Consider your car load multiplied by the number of students sharing the kitchen.............
Re. TV licence. Keep note of uni term dates. Because our daughter could prove that there was no way she could be using her TV at the end of the academic year, she was able to claim back money for the time until anniversary of when licence was issued.

Have fun finishing your packing.
Safe journeys.

Eeyore13 Report 17 Sep 2008 11:43

Errr & the bad news is..................You have to have a TV Licence AAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrggggggggh.
Had to speak to Residential Services, sob.
But-if you pay monthly you cancel when they return in the summer so it costs less.

Taff

Taff Report 17 Sep 2008 11:13

Yep, Possitive Eeyore, its covered by the uni.
when you think about it, if a licence was needed for every t.v in the uni.............................
and as long as the Uni have a licence everyone is covered.
Do you have a licence for every t.v. in your house? I dont.
One covers all.
