We are 4 days to go too!Son had his dental check today thankfully just needs a clean and polish before he goes.
Bought a supply of deodorant ,shower gel razors etc.New pillows,mattress cover.He has been working in a cash and carry so has the biggest box of washing powder ,1,000 T Bags and a ton of toilet rolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There has been a serious attitude change.......I set his Grandad on him,who said exactly the same as me & suddenly he's moving.......I'm in shock !!! :)

Pmsl Helen. That was about the same shopping list that we had. Simon left last Tuesday but was home at the weekend...............funny thing, he put his dishes in the dishwasher himself............lol. Well at least he has learnt something. Starts Uni tomorrow.

Eeyore ,He is off to Kent Uni (Canterbury)About 3 hours drive.I don't think he will be coming home too often!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder how how many pairs of socks and pants we have all bought!!!!!!!!!!.His old ones will be binned.Think I will buy a Duck toilet brush thing where it grabs a cleaner thing ,to wipe around the loo and then is just flushed.(he has an en suite)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He won't let me go with him on saturday,just want's OH to take him.Huh!! I think he thinks I will make too much of a fuss.(and will be embarrasing )!!!Have told OH to take the camera so at least I can see what his accommodation is like.

I am sat on the floor surrounded by kitchen paraphanalia .He said Mum you put out what you think I will need and then I will choose what I actually need!!!!!!!!!!
My dog is also having a sulk,he probably thinks it is me leaving him again.
Hair has been cut,been to bank to pay last of his overdraft.I was very firm about him closing that account before he goes.
I suppose we need to get TV license.Money for freshers week!!

We can't get a TV Licence he's in a new building & it hasn't got an address yet!Working on a way around it.

TV licenses are often covered by the uni for fresher ...but do check with your uni .....

Money for freshers week ........no way man we paid last year ...hes on his own this year !!!!

He went to London,Queen Mary 3 years ago but left after a term.He was very unhappy,and I think where he was living was the real problem.All rooms on campus had gone and he was in this flat a mile or so away and the others werent students and were never there.He actually became quite depressed.
Fingers crossed this time will be a good experience.
How much do you reckon they need to get through freshers week.I think his loan goes in his account on the 29th.

well take £400.00 and hope you come home with change !!!!!!!!!!!!

We spent £40.00 on keys and TV lic and cleaner which you have to pay
about £120.00 on the "card " to get in pubs ...now with that card he gets into pubs/clubs free and drinks are pennys!!!
£100.00 on food shopping
£the rest for books he may need on the first days in uni .....
But we are going north .....................and each uni is different ....


Living on campus is VERY inportant it gives then a "safe "place to meet people
