I know what you are all saying. I lost my dad in April this year and would love to go to a medium, but it is too soon for me yet. When I feel ready, I will go to see one, but will still go with an open mind. |

I wouldn't go so far as to say that there is no such thing as a genuine medium. I have never seen one and don't know anyone who has, but I remain open minded to the concept. |

Ok, won't ask you about your personal experience. Good debate, Eldrick. |

Tthat was a professional experience! |

So it is personal experience that has formed your opinion. Fair enough and I think I would feel the same contempt under those circumstances. |

I think a lot of the time, if people go away feeling comforted, that is OK - as I say, belief is personal. Where it becomes truly despicable is illustrated in a case I had involvement in. |

I see the point, Maggy, and I do agree to a point - where is the harm. However, what about people who are distressed and desperate for a sign from a loved one. It seems cruel to fool these people. |

Interesting, Harry. I think it's the money making that annoys me. However, supply and demand. |

I have to agree with Harry. Most people go to see these shows with an open mind anyway, and accept that they are entertainers. If people go home from these shows feeling better than they went, what's the harm? |

I know many of these people and they are fakes. However, I would say that they serve a useful, if doubtful, purpose. |

Well, surprise! surprise! I agree wholeheartedly with you, Eldrick. As I said on your other thread, I do think that there are some people who are more sensitive or aware than others but I really have no time for the stage mediums. Still each to their own. |

I have no problem with spiritualists etc....who go quietly about their beliefs and don't try to make outrageous claims or charge lots of money. Each to their own. |

Again, curiosity not criticism Eldrick. Do psychics, mediums, clairvoyants etc. make you angry or do they just irritate you? I admit to feeling annoyed with fakes who feed off the the distress of others. |
