ok, wizard searched and said can't find a better match than what I have.

ok if that is the case it is possible it became damaged in some way when it was taken out.
However, let's try to restore/update the driver.

On the Driver tab click on the "Update driver..." button and then if asked, use the option to search automatically and follow the on-screen instructions.

no but I think a few months ago I took the rom out of the tower to dust it but I put it back right.

It is just POSSIBLE that the problem is with number 4 or 6.
Have you installed any new hardware or software recently or have you changed the region of your DVD player?

ok there are 6 entries:

nrs 1,2,4,6, have a tick by them

Ok click on the Driver tab and then on the "Driver Details" button and let me know what it says under "Driver files".

Under the General tab, what does it say for "Device status"?
(from this point you may find that you have to keep minimising and maximising windows)

Now right click on your drive and select Properties (at the bottom of the list probably).
