Well, my view is probably guessable, lol

But to get back to the original point, who can tell if a prophet is false or not and just how much harm can these false ones cause?

Should there be an official 'prophet' test...? Like do 3 miracles and turn that water into wine for a BIGGGGGG party?

well I think it is an interesting topic..

Well, Eldrick, that made for nauseating reading but we can't dodge the fact that these things happen. My main objection to that article is that once again children are suffering at the hands of adults. The adult in question is obviously vulnerable and able to be manipulated by this Bushey. Sad.

Tory, if something in here has hit home on a personal basis, say so, please don't just come in and say shut it down, if there is something personal in here that has hurt you, say so.

OH Report 20 May 2008 13:10

I don't expect anyone to bow out, since there has been no anger thrown around in here why should someone suggest there is?

The only difference being is the child can not make an informed choice..so it comes down to the parents..

I disagree Tory, all it has done thus far is made us all ask question after question, no one has said anything against anything with anger behind a comment.

I see what you mean but actually I was saying much the same thing. It can't really be argued as there are too many issues involved.

No Sue..but when u ignore treatment..to save a childs life you might as well be..

tory

tory Report 20 May 2008 13:04

no sue, but to me talking about fakes that encourage people to mass suicide is one thing .I now see this thread as a major religious squabble and I don't think the GR boards aren't the place for it .I just see it as getting out of hand thats all

Are you saying I advocate euthanasia or the people who put their beliefs above their children's lives?

there are cures and treatments out there for a reason..to save lives...I would choose medicine over my beliefs..if it meant saving my child.

May I ask why it should be ended, it is putting thought into action and hoping answer will be revealed

I think its time to stop this one :-))

I think the "medical intervention" thing is so emotive that it isn't easy to give a black and white opinion. On one hand who are we to judge the decisions these parents make. On the other hand how can these people make decisions based on their own beliefs and endanger their children's lives against all advice from professionals. Difficult point to discuss.
