We have Henderson's by marriage (step mother), Dowds. OH had bit of sad life, once left at bus stop, told to get on bus when it came; he was only little. He was a Barnado's child for a while, I was too.

Gets hankies out, passes round. We're okay, don't worry - worse than that in our family, but hey, we're proud of what we've achieved!!!

ShimmsRedRoseAndMistletoe Report 17 May 2008 10:09

Doc, if you find any Allan's in there! Of course there will be the wives maiden names too - could be somewhere along line!

Do you belong to Scotlandspeople? On Records, there's Wayne/Tracey, they helped me with OH's mum. Family story was she was a MacDonald, died on Christmas Day giving birth to OH. Turned out she was originally a McIntyre, previous marriage MacDonald, died in April of first year,

He had 'bro' in 'cupboard'. All first sons have same names, I used to laugh, say 'you got bro in cupboard', turns out I was right. They've met, but just card at Christmas.

ShimmsRedRoseAndMistletoe Report 17 May 2008 09:29

Did you find book in library? How amazing!

Where's Lethendy Doc? Dunfermline is over the Firth of Forth Bridge from Edinburh - love Scotland, been to many places, feel at peace there. Love history too, one of my favourite's, Mary Queen of Scots and the Stewarts.

Allan is old Scottish name, linked to Stewarts. OH's mother was a McIntyre, got to research that, was once a MacDonald, good clans.
