She was serious too, bless her blonde locks.
I ran that pub for four years and I can honestly say the medium bloke was talking out of his botty. The only spirits in that pub were sold in measures at my exorbitant prices!!!

I once worked in a "haunted" pub.

Some psychic bloke had been in and found the spirit of a soldier from "The War of the Roses" (considering the pub was practically on the battlefield of The Battle of Tewkesbury i wasn't overly impressed with his spiritual insight.)

Anyway, I once told a waitress that we were haunted by a Cavalier, to which she replied "We're haunted by a car?"

Bless.

A few points as I see them....

1) Everyone has their own beliefs.

2) Everyone is entitled to those beliefs.

3) Everyone has an opinion.

4) Everyone has the right to express their opinion.

5) Everyone has the right to air their sense of humour.

6) Those who have no sense of humour have no right to judge those who do.

7) Life is too short for bitter squabbles.

8) We all have to live in this world, as did the spirits before us.......what will they think of all this...lol

Not read the whole thread n nothing in my post directed at ANYONE....just expressing my present thoughts.. :o)

No I wont add either unless there is some point. Although the temptation is great. I will resist it.

I would just say that I never have a go at an individual, unless that individual has a go at me first. All I ever do is poke fun at a SUBJECT. If anyone wants to choose to interpret that as belittling an individual, there is nothing I can do about it.

However, some individuals seem to want a slanging match. I am sorely tempted to rise to the occasion :-)

But in the interests of love, peace and harmony, I will refrain.

Watching.

If you don't like what i wright thats your right but please don't keep on about it and getting in the middle of things. Yet again you have brought this back up. Well i'll not add here again unless i see i need too.ok.

Ron I saw this post this moning and whilst I didn't agree with all that was said I felt that the words it doen't matter what others think were right so I decided not to post and to let it lie and slip down the boards. Now hours later you come in and say your bit when the adult thing would to have been to leave it.I wonder Ron are you tring to bait someone to a response.

Uggers i'm chilled out thanks. And no i'm not angry at anybody. I mearly asked Eldrick if he would stop his belittling others that don't see things the Eldrick way. I have been on this site years and if you check my postings your not find any that i belittle others on. If anything your find postings that i try to help others. As for his tongue in cheek humour thats fine so long as others are not made to feel belittled. As for his Mocking well there is no need to mock anybody on this site nomatter if it's intended or not.
Now i have had my say i'll go.

Chill out a bit, Ron:) Eldrick might be mocking but there's no malice intended. Most of us mock beliefs we think are ridiculous and have our own beliefs mocked in return - what does it matter? Believe what you believe and be happy in that. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Well said Mick.

I really don't think Ian is trying to belittle anyone, or mock them for their beliefs. What he IS doing is questioning those who claim to be doing all this great work, when there is no evidence, other than their own say-so.

There have been other threads on here in the past that have equally cast doubt, and questioned, on the same subject, but the posters have not been subjected to this kind of treatment and accusation. I guess it may be because its Ian.

Let me give you a clue to his sense of humour....it's called 'tongue in cheek'. FGS stop taking him so seriously!

End the inquisition and smile.

(Uh oh..Monty Python moment as image of three Catholic Cardinals jump in saying *Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!*)

This is getting daft , Ron and Eldrick have differing points of view about after life stuff . Each to their own and I for one am not a believer , but the fact remains that there are others that do . I honestly don,t think Eldrick meant to offend , his remarks where tongue in cheek and made to get an interesting thread going .
I for one have enjoyed being on GR tonight . so thanks to all who have been involved , your what makes GR Great !
