I am a bit like you Harp Strings..regarding dreaming..My dreams kind of reflect and predict events..or things that happen in my life..they are more subtle..also my dreams are very lucid and almost like I have left my body..it is really difficult to explain in words...regarding the medium debate..yes there are fakes out there..but there are true mediums too...I have heard Derek Acorah is not all what he claims to be..Colin Fry..He is very accurate in what he says to people. I have read all Doris Stokes books and Mia Dolans books(the latter I would recommend..especially "my gift")..I have been intrigued by this subject since my teens..(and Im near 40 now)..much of this interest fuelled by personal experiences..and other peoples. It is personal choice at end of day..just like people believe in catholism..etc

Ah Eldrick - if only - although you wont believe this I did used to pick a selection of numbers just for fun - would have won £300,000 if I had put me £1 on. OH has never quite forgiven me. I no longer select numbers for fun!

If I have a very strong dream premonition will gladly PM you.

Hi HS

I most certainly cannot explain.

But I would be happy for you to email me or PM me details of any such dreams, prior to the events taking place and it would certainly dilute my scepticism!

It would be nice, as well, if you could somehow tune into next weeks lottery numbers :-)

Harpstrings

Harpstrings Report 7 May 2008 11:46

Can you explain then why I dream of disasters before they have happened?

Yes you can argue and say but there are always disasters and its just the mind playing tricks.
Past dreams of importance
Disaster 1. Dreamed of a huge hotel with lots of windows and corridors on the sea front having an explosion. (Brighton bombing was on news next day)
Disaster 2. Ferry near harbour half sunk on its side - Zeebruger
Disaster 3. Plane crash - on or very near a hard shoulder on a motorway close to a bridge- aircrash near East Midlands airport.

All these I have dreamed. These are the outstanding ones if you please not run of the mill disasters. I have many more.

Can I add that I do not wish to have these dreams and prefer not to have them. My husband was a sceptic until I started telling him of my dreams and I told him to watch the news over the next day or so. I am now officially the family witch! lol

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 7 May 2008 11:27

Very quickly, because I am dashing again....
Yes, absolutely. Probably even more so :-)

And I didnt say ALL mediums are quacks. I said the celebrity ones are . - they have been shown to be total frauds time and time again.

Harpstrings

Harpstrings Report 7 May 2008 11:24

I would be interested to hear Eldrick's views on those people who claim to dream of forthcoming events - does he believe they too are "quacks" and put them in the same category as mediums etc?

Maybe not uggers but resulting to micky taking is inpolite

Expecting politeness in return isn't being defensive, Eldrick.

Have a good day Eldrick, hope you find the answers that you are looking for. quack mediums - hmm still not proved it have you? lol been a good debate though, I dare say the subject will pop up again

Eldrick

Then direct your comments at those you mean, not at everyone. I thought everyone was very calm and polite and I don't like being included in generalisations:)

I know, Viv - shocking ain't it;)

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 7 May 2008 10:15

The eternal answer - anyone who questions quack mediums get accused of being argumentative.

Its message board syndrome....alternative viewpoint that points out the obvious iniquities of something is wrong because it is argumentative, lol. A total cop out.

You aint seen argumentative! lol

Yes, I must go do some work too. I think it is fair to draw a line under it, you are so entrenched that all appeals to reason are bound to fail. I will look elsewhere for enlightenment :-)

But no hard feelings....certainly none this end.

Oh Viv...sorry to rain on your parade, but read my last post....:-)

Of course not Eldrick...but I have realised that I am not the one to convince you, I really dont think you want to be convinced and dont think you ever will be -thats fine I wont lose any sleep over it.
I havent changed the goalposts at all you claimed that there was a vast amount of evidence to prove that Colin Fry is a fake..you have simply not provided anything naming him other than an entry on an on-line encyclopedia which is added to and edited without moderation.
I do believe that Colin receives messages from the spirit world yes, just as I believe that mediums at spritualist churches do the same (and they can hardly be accused of raking in millions).
...have a good day I have work to go to
