You have to have an opened mind tho.. You cannot walk round thinking "Its not true but do something to change my mind".. you have to believe that there is the possibility of it first..
Just imagine if it is true and family members who have been trying to get your attention are sitting there saying "Hey, I have been showing you that I am here"..
To me I think its a massive comfort to know that my family are not gone and that are still here watching over me, and that I will see them again.. I think that is the greatest comfort anyone could ever have,

Personally, I think that is the biggest cop out in the world to say you can't see or experience something because you aren't sensitive, lol.

By saying that, surely you are saying that these experiences happen inside the mind. Now I can accept that this may be the case - indeed, to my mind, that is the most likely explanation, if any is needed.

If that is so, then, it is evidence of what, exactly? If one person can 'see' it and another can't - it is only real for one person and not the other!

Therefore it proves nothing.

DIZZI D me please. I am sort of envious of people who have the gift..

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 6 May 2008 19:37

Hi DIzzi

Please understand that I am not disbelieving you....but photographs aren't evidence unless taken under scientifically stable and controlled conditions.

But if you can take me or show me where I can witness the same phenomenon myself, then fair do's! Thats a different matter altogether.

YES. I so do.. I have had too many things happen not to believe.
My mums house has always had a spirit which we believe is my great grandfather as stuff only started happening when mum was given his potrait after he died.. It was only playful things like your hair got tugged on, or you was poked in the ribs lol. But there was once when mum was cleaning upstairs so she shouted for me to bring up the brush and dustpan but it wasnt there.. mum got mad at me and said I must be blind. She then went into her bedroom and the brush and dustpan was on her bed lol.
I saw a ghost walk through the caravan when I was on holiday in Scarborough about 12 years ago.. I can still remember exactly how he looked and my friend saw him too.
We did the spirit board thing at school too.. NEVER again.. I think I became addicted to them and it ended with an experience that would never want to have happen again.

Jean (Monmouth) Report 6 May 2008 19:14

When I came out of the bathroom at 6pm on 20th Feb 2001, I heard my son say, 'I'm sorry, Mum' He lived at the other side of the country. It transpired later that week that he had fallen in his flat, hit his head and died at about that time.
My father appeared to me a week after his funeral, in my bedroom door, and said, Dont worry love, I am quite alright, I,m with Freddie. That was my brother who died before I was born. I dont think it was my imagination. Jean

Absolutely right.

It most certainly is a matter of opinion. Whether you believe in science, a flat earth or UFO's. Its an individuals inalienable right to believe in absolutely anything he or she wishes to do so. And that is how it should be.

But I bet no one takes me up on my offer :-)

RStar Report 6 May 2008 19:10

There 'aint' no thing as ghosts, thats an opinion. Mine is that there is an afterlife. No need to try to convince me otherwise - the only evidence I will believe must be scientifically proveable and academically accepted, as in all science.

Off to work on my tree, bye ladies.

Hello Louise. Ive seen 3 spirits, and one flash of light on my pillow in pitch darkness. (I was thinking of my late grandad, at the time).

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 6 May 2008 19:04

Absolutely no.

I will accept any offer, challenge or invitation to spend as long as required at any location at any time in an attempt to witness a paranormal phenomenon. Alone if necessary.

There aint no such things as ghosts!

No need to try to convince me otherwise - the only evidence I will believe must be scientifically proveable and academically accepted, as in all science.

Or that of my own eyes and ears.

If anyone wants to invite or challenge me, I'll be there!

Harpstrings Report 6 May 2008 18:53

Yes I believe. I do believe I have a ghost in my house and so does next doors. I can always feel a presence when stood at the cooker - no other place.

My sisters dog and my dear old cat (now departed) always looked up at the same corner in my living room. Her dog would never go into the kitchen by herself was a right scaredy cat of a dog!

I have said out loud that who ever they are they are welcome in the house (well they were probably here long before me) but please I would not like to see them. I think we have a healthy respect for one another.

My neighbour has seen an old woman walk through her wall -I only hope she doesn't walk through mine, lol.

My neighbour said she saw my dead cat in the kitchen - scared the living daylights out of me, even I did not like to go in my own kitchen - still dont in the dark always turn the lights on!

I do sometimes wonder if people who see ghosts are seeing a memory if that makes sense.
