I think both boards have their place. The Chat board currently has 4 threads of over 1000 posts... people chatting about all sorts and generally enjoying small talk and catching up on various subjects.

The old style chat was great but the new style can and has been recreated for more people to enjoy the interaction.

Would these kind of threads be suitable on The General Board where topics and questions move faster and don't necessarily stay at the top for long?

I think both boards are just fine.

and what's the history board all about....should it be merged with Trying to find and surname information?

Different atmosphere over on Chat, Lesley. Can't explain why but I never feel really comfortable over there.

why change something when there is nothing wrong with it ....if they have the space then why not have all these boards...I can't understand why you want to merg it....lol

The board that need the biggest overhaul is TTF. It full of-

Old threads dug up from the dark age looking for Noah's Dad

"I can't find my best friend" (well she's not a very good friend if you don't know where she lives!)

Adoption threads (I haven't a clue & leave to the experts)

"I can't find who Auntie Betty married" (& I don't know when/if she married & I'm not sure if she had children.)

Then tucked in the middle of this shambles is a few that I can "try" to help!


Mega whinge over, back to Records where we are under attack for trying to help!
