where do you start ....I think you have to earn respect ....its not something that is given or earnt easy.....so having said that, to all my friends I have made on here....you have my deepest respect..and without naming them I would like to think they know who they are.

For all the people on here that work as carers..you do a marvellous job...Angels no question.

To the people who suffer from illness and post on here ...to share your feelings..my respect to you all

I respect anyone that is ill or suffering but still manage to show their support to other people. I also respect everyone that respects me and to all the "new" friends I have made on here

there are so many people on these boards who are unwell and who endure their illness with fortitude that it would be unfair to list them I respect them all for their loving support of others who suffer. and for their support for me over the past few months.

There is a danger of missing people out on this type of thread so I am very wary of naming names but I have the greatest respect for those who are always the same, whatever they may be feeling they are always fair and honest in the way they deal with people. they may not be afraid to speak their minds but they will stay true to themselves. I can name a few but there are bound to be more.

And thank you for those who give me respect, i appreciate that.

PS I just knew I would forget to mention somebody and in fact I forgot 3. BC, Hayley and TW all of whom I respect for their humour, their attempt to keep the boards light and their honesty and forthrightness.

as Ugs says, those who show such dignity and resilience in the face of adversity - they just get on with it and face everything with a smile - and they are completely selfless - they'll do anything for you ...

yes you're right respect is something over and above liking....you can (and I often do) respect someone that I do not get on with on a 'personal' level.

i dont post very much , but i do think most on the boards are very nice .
i post on the breast cancer thread
and .lyn jacky and rog are really nice people
i find joyous a very warm person she involves all
purple and gillian and jenny from tyne mouth also
they never ignore anyone
there are lots more who i have spoken too

I too have lots of self respect and will not allow someone to disrespect me but unfortunately not everyone has my strength. I have respect for most of the people on these boards for different reasons.....you included x

I like a lot of people on here but that's a bit different from respect isn't it.

I have a lot of respect for the people I think of as woolly minded liberals - people like yourself, Gwynne, Sheila, Lesley and Roxanne.

And also for the bolshy and upfront people who say exactly what they think - like Jeanette, Jac and Rox again.

I've also got a lot of respect for those who have crap times but just get on with things - there are a few of them but I'm especially thinking of Jean Durant, Viv in North Herts, Chris H and Gwynne at the moment.

I've also got loads of respect for my mate Linda in Bolton and she knows why:))))

Plus I have shedloads of self respect which I think is very important:))

Everyone on here has my respect until they prove they are unworthy of it

My respect to those who show their respect and love to others everyday..
