i cant say that i respect anyone on here, either people iv met (and there are many) or people iv not met
i dont think you can know someone well enough to respect them unless you see them on a regular basis
there are people here who seem sensible enough and get on with life then they throw a wobbly and suprise me so its hard to know people enough to respect them !

HOW DO YOU GET SELF RESPECT BACK

OH

OH Report 18 May 2008 02:18

I have the greatest respect for all, but when that nasty comes in and starts, that name goes off the list, you are all fantastic people and great to get along with, as yet I have not had to growl at anyone.

Scouser Lynn and Gillian Jennifer have my deepest respect for the tireless work they have put in to rising money and awareness for their charities without ever having to be patted on the back or their egos fed…A credit to themselves and everyone….they deserve much more than respect they should be awarded medals

I respect those who have the courage of their convictions and speak out against injustice etc. I also respect those who can accept the views of other people regardless of whether they agree or not. I also have self-respect although I am not as tolerant or non-judgmental as I would like to be.

I am not one for adding to lists like this as I would be sure to miss someone out, but after reading Gwynne's post....I will go along with that :-)

Interesting thread, Rose.

Thanks to those who mentioned my name.

As far as GR goes I respect the same sort of people that I do in real life. I won't mention names because I will surely leave someone out but if you read Uggers' and Ann's threads you'll get the gist.

I respect my fellow woolly open-minded liberals and disrespect those with closed minds and opinions based on bigotry or ignorance.

I respect honesty and compassion and disrespect those who lie or go out of their way to cause trouble.

I respect those who say what they mean openly and disrespect those who make snide remarks and digs.

I respect those who support others in times of need.

I respect those who say what they have to say with good manners and disrespect those who post poison.

That'll do for now.

There are so many people out there who should earn respect but don't lifeboat men for example why should they have to rely on donations.

firefighters to answer hoax calls to be stoned and spat on.
Samaritans who help a lot of people through the dark days of their lives.
Soldiers seamen ,airmen young people putting their lives on the line for a government who dos'nt really give a t**s.
and to all you out there in cyberland who do care about others more power to you all usx

I respect those who manage to stay calm and discuss topics without turning the boards into battle grounds.

The various boards are full of really nice friendly people and to name any would probably mean missing someone.

respect its a big word aint it not many letters in it but its a very big word with a huge meaning

they say respect is earned and that is correct in a way

thats why i am so pleased no one has said my name, i have never earned anyone respect on here i have never looked for it nore do i want it

why because i have never done anything to warrent it

I dont save lives everyday
i dont risk my life everyday to help others
i dont put my life at risk on the frontline everyday fighting terrorists
i am not in a camp in africa handing out food and meds to other humans

those people i respect

so do i respect anyone on here

no but i admire a few

miss chief my friend who makes us all laugh, skips about, is compassionate and despite her dad being rushed to hospital with heart problems, cared enough to let me know.

All the peeps (angels) who are replying on the thread I put up - can't make people do that, touches your heart to the core when they do.
