This is either my fourth or fifth year - can't remember exactly. I remember Lemon as well as she was one of the first people to lend a hand to me. I was plain 'Margaret' when I first joined but altered it to Midlands Margaret a few months ago as there suddenly seemed to be a glut of Margarets and it was confusing as to who was who. I do miss some of the old 'posters' who were so helpful on the genealogy side but also 'Bridget' of the wonderful stories. Don't know which Bridget she was, but she was a best selling authoress in my opinion.

You need to go to 'My account" and it should tell you there.

Helen in Kent Report 24 Apr 2008 15:12

My membership number is 85284 and I joined in January 2003 - it wasn't very long after the site first started.

Lots of the oldies went off to join a new site started up by a member here because there were too many arguments, as I remember, and to be honest I don't join in much for that very reason. Lots of people seem to flare up so easily and I don't like to read threads like that. I often wonder if an evening drink or several is to blame.

Having said that, most of the newbies seem pleasant and if I ever need assistance there has always been someone to help.

The earliest member I have met is Lynda Pace who was, I think, member number 100 - she seems to have been drummed off here by an unpleasant minority so I miss sharing threads with her and many others.

Maz in the East End, if you're looking in, what number are you? Another early bird, I know.

Peace to all.

Hi Harry
Great Thread
I have been a member for 3 years now. I used to post from time to time but very rarely post now.
Like Steve I felt I just didn't fit in on some of the threads. There seemed to be a Clique and they only answered each other on a lot of the threads.
I still look at a lot of the interesting posts and occasionally comment. I miss all the fun that we used to have with some of the longer memberships.

Life is too short for all the bickering that has been going on.

I will continue to be a member as there are some lovely people on here that are happy to help with Ancesty. They also bring laughter, smiles and positive thoughts to people that need it. Now what can be nicer than that.
I have also found relatives I didn't know I had through GR. So keep up the good work all you nice helpful people

Have a nice day
Regards
Jackie

Lovely to hear from you all. Still a millionaire BC, but it's only in 5pence pieces now.
Said before, I,ll send my wife round. The mice will then jump on chairs in fright, and you can clobber them.
Very best wishes to all.( wasn,t aware there had been a recent thread for oldies).

Happy days

Hello Harry, nice to "see" you on here again:-) I am, as you know, one of the Oldies and yes we have had good fun on here at times (remember when Sue Smith and I chased you round the boards cos someone said you were a millionaire?) and there are still interesting threads from time to time. I do not know a lot of the new folk on here, but it must be an ok place, as scores of folk from other genealogy websites flock over here just to read our lovely threads:-) lol

Now, Harry, if you could help me with my "Mice on the Patio" problem, I would be forever grateful!
