I have been here over 2 years...and I have seen some people come and go......the one thing and the most thing I love about this site is the community spirit regards if people get along or not...I think that was proven with the saddest day for me when CarolB's son was killed...I was so proud of each and everyone of you for that...The first people I spoke with off the board was Joe of Bexley Heath who rarely posts now but remembered my birthday last year and post the thread for it.....I felt very honoured and the first person I met was racing fan Jean who just lives round the corner from me...lol......I love the meets and love meeting new people...

I have been here about 3 years now, in fact is my GR anniversary soon Lol. I have always posted on and off usually on more serious threads!!! but I do miss some of the people mentioned. Tho' keep in touch with a few.

Gen seems to have a very different character to the one I first new but still lots of funny and caring people about!

I don't post often these days, unless I have something useful to say. I find all the changes to names just too confusing for my poor old brain.

I am still in contact with some of the early members, who seem to have drifted away.

I thought it was November 2002 the site began. I looked in for about 8 weeks before I joined in the beginning of Jan 2003. It was obvious at that point how successful the site was going to be.. I watched with interest the first page, everyday, whilst the membership numbers crept up and up!!

Another early member was Max.

Hello Harry, the site started on November 5th 2002 and I joined in December 2002, so I've been here a few years. I feel I barely belong here anymore :-(((


I rarely start any threads, but look in every day. Lots of people who were here in the early days have sadly left now, Ray (Poets Pot), Kath Fennel, Steedie, Vera (as someone already mentioned) and of course Lemon, Daniel, Bec, and a host of others. I miss them all and lots of others too.

Maz from the East End was the first person I met from Genes.

Hi Harry, been a member for five years now, just renewed. Posted constantly in that time and enjoyed most of the time. Sadly the most destructive time to the boards was the mass exodus of many well liked members in September 2006. However, we have survived and (with the likes of BC, Daff, Hayley and TW) we still have a lot of fun times.

good to know the old members are still around and watching us, and always good to see them on here.

anyone remember Sue who lived either wiltshire or Somerset and who organised the very first meet I went to in Bristol, and Debbi from Devon (who went to that meet) who now has her own site. One of the biggest losses is Grandpa Jim from Hampshire who was always so cheerful and a great help with my tree.
