Been to see dad tonight and although he is still getting chest pains, he seems more his normal self.
One of the other patients, who happens to be my old maths teacher, told me that dad has apologised to the nursing staff for his behaviour this morning!

Did have a word with the doc. He said that sometimes when they try to get a wire into the heart (which they did yesterday morning) it dislodges particles which sometimes go to the brain. He said its usually only temporary and he did seem better when we left him. Was upsetting at the time though because he was like a different person.

Did think about him being dehydrated Liz and took some drinks back with us.

Thanks again everyone. You're stars!!

Sorry about this setback and hope the docs will sort your Dad out and he is soon his old self. Is he getting dehydrated in the hospital, as sometime can make people confused and different.
Good luck, hope your Mum is ok - so upsetting for her.

Not with heart attacks.................but he could possibly have had a tiny stroke..........called a TIA.

Mum has lots of them...........the effects last from a couple of hours to half a day.

Have a word with his doctors to be on the safe side.

Not a good day today. Got to work this morning and had a phonecall from mum, in tears. Dad was wanting to discharge himself. Rushed from work and dad was really confused and nasty towards us (not like him at all). Finally managed to get him settled and he seems more like himself now.

Has anyone else experienced this with heart attack patients?
