Could well be, Amanda.

I've only the one, and so much do I recognise the emotions behind the bravado,

Rachel's come through the other end now - Uni finished, very happily married and in a job she loves.

But I still remember passing the playground when she was only about seven Loads of kids playing together and there was my Rach - in her red duffle coat - all alone, with her mouth going, obviously telling yet another story. To herself. She didn't look a bit lonely - but a whole lot alone.

She's always been fiercely proud and independent, but only mum knows the demons she's faced.

Love to you and yours.

Good night

Your Rach sounds much the same as mine Sue.....mine is full of bravado but I know what a bundle of emotion she is underneath the facade.
I think it's being a Mum that pulls at ones heart.I know I never settle properly until all my " chicks" are accounted for............lol

Sweet dreams Sue...........and I hope the football all goes you way tomorrow.

Funny how some are borne all-knowing, Amanda

Perhaps it comes with the name? My Rachel's always been old way beyond her years, but a whole lot more vulnerable than you'd expect, if that makes sense........

Funny how that mixture of independence and vulnerability has the capacity to pull at your heart?

anyway, must off to bed shortly. There's this packing stuff to do in the morning. And NUFC to watch doing serious damage to the Mackems.

Rachael was born old I think.........several people ie mid-wife and nurse said on first seeing her "she's been here before". There really is no holding her back
and as she is no fool I personally don't see the point in trying to hold her back.
Meg is the younger of our two ( being almost 14 ) ,
my eldest is Rebecca ( mother of the Grand childen )
and then there is Luke ( 21 this year ) and the one who will most likely want to stay at home.Having been bought up with three sisters he is in no rush to get into any relationships.........lol

Mine are lit - and guttering.

They never had any glitter - nor were they a present from a daughter.

Whoops. I didn't realise Rachael was only 15. Now I understand your reticence on the Calella thing, I'd somehow got it into my head that she was older.

How old is Meg? Is she the eldest?

Lol Sue.........my Rachael has always been somewhat forward in her learning..........she is still only 15. The house has been a so peaceful the past 10 days.It was lovely to get her home . This morning she and Meg headed off at each other , moody moody girls............lol

I guess I stacked the odds.........four kids.....one is bound to be the stay at home one...........I doubt I'll ever get the "gone" thing totally.

Know what you mean. Always the urge to hurry things up.

It's like that with children too, Amanda. Remeber - I wish Rachel would walk/talk/go to school/go to senior school/get a boyfriend/go to Uni

And then, turn around, they're gone.

Such is life!

Out of habit - it's time for turning in, but one last bevvy at the Mad Bar. Slurps a glass of Bolly (for Whirls), a snifter of Camembert and Camomile (for my mate Amanda) and robs the till (for the nameless one)

Night All.

If there's a man without a name out there watching - what price King Kev and tenth place, now?

Ps - was watching Soccer AM today and realised I'm in Barcelona on the very day Barca play Man U. May manage a place in the Noucamp.

PPS - if Fulham go down, who wants Jimmy Bullard?
