Hi Jacky J
I dont think that its a "Face" problem, but maybe more like the style or content of the thread/posting that either attracts more comment or leaves people uninterested in replying.....I have had one or two successes, that attracted more than two replies........but have had many that I deleted through lack of topicality? or interest.
I have found sometimes that the current Mood helps a thread or posting.

Jacky,

I've been on here for over 4 years but I've changed my name a few times and lost all interest in genealogy, I'm a diyer now and you never get ignored on a diy forum! I only come on here to ask the odd question.

aww jackie,

don't feel like that.....look at my threads....I hardly get any response at all, doesn't worry me though....I just enjoy myself writing them, even if I am talking to myself most of the time lol.

It only looks cliquey cos lots have met up with each other or feel comfortable with each other.

And sometimes it is just the wrong time of day. I don't think anyone is deliberately avoiding your threads.....sometimes I re-read my own and think....'well, there is no answer to that really'. Or maybe some peeps think I am in a'clique.....lots of reasons....doubt any of them are personal......sorry you feel 'unwelcome'....perhaps you won't feel this way after this thread. I hope not.

Hi Jacky,
We've spoken before a long time ago. I sometimes post threads and feel that I don't get the same response that other threads posted by other people get.
So maybe our faces don't fit, but it doesn't stop me. If a thread has something interesting that takes my eye then I will reply.
I don't know what's been going on over the last few days and to be honest I don't wish to know. But it seems that some people are stirring up trouble. But isn't that life. If we all did the same thing then the world would be a boring mundane place to live.

anyway how are you keeping? You were amongst some of the 1st people that spoke to me when I joined in 2004.

Hi Jacky - I for one would never ever deliberately ignore anyone - honestly I wouldn't - I just love chatting to people

Why not have a look at Julie Ann's thread
"Is it me or does anybody else" - we have had such a laugh on there this evening, everyone has been in stitches

Hi Linda - with regards to your cough, try the remedy that is absolutely always promoted on here - sounds daft but apparently works a treat - rub Vick on the soles of your feet and put socks on before you go to bed - guaranteed to stop a cough.

By the way, I ain't in any clique and never ever will be - I chat to anyone and everyone and have met a lovely new friend on here this evening - Frances in Norwich and hopefully we will meet some time when she comes down the M4 to Wales - I'm in Cardiff

Love to all, Ann XX

I think thats half the trouble Jacky, we don't actually see anyones face.I would much rather speak to a face, but also like to think I don't ignore anyone.

Anyway I am off to bed now.

Nite nite and don't worry about it too much.

I'm sure you're not being ignored Jackie. Some people just read threads, but don't actually reply to them

Emma, just ask away, someone is usually about to reply to you. You're probably better asking earlier on in the day though, it's a bit quieter this time of night.

Jacky, I'm sorry you feel like this, I often have posts that don't get answers, I just delete them. I'm sure it's not deliberate. The situation yesterday has been very difficult, you will notice there are members of GR leaving at an alarming rate. Some people are just not sure who they can trust, it's not personal to you.

Jacky
I always find it nicer on the boards in the week rather than the weekends. Ive been on here about 5 years but I dont let it get to me anymore.....life is too short

Emma
The tips board is really good for advise and theres a pinned thread for newbies

Sue in Somerset Report 1 Apr 2008 23:34

I'm never certain who is in a clique or not.

Sometimes threads disappear off the first few pages very quickly if a lot of people are online. That way new people coming on can easily miss threads.

I wouldn't take it personally......I've killed off dozens of threads without meaning to!

It all seems very 'clique' here. I'm looking for some advise on how the site works. Where do I ask? All the threads here are quite personal. I did ask but have had no replies. Thanks, Emma.
