They're very clever aren't they. I've been so broody for some more pups since I started reading this thread Dee. I only have one bitch now & she's been spayed now (two sections so no more breeding for her). |

Thanks Chrisa, I didn't know about that, they don't seem to have any trouble finding her, even if they start off on the wrong side of the whelping box. |

Pups can't see til their eyes open completely & can't hear anything til their ears open. They call out so mam can find them. They rely totally on their sense of smell. That is why you have to be very vigillent when a cesearean section is needed. The antiseptic used to clean mam masks the smell of the milk. |

Returned with Sally to the vets this morning, she's so much better today, it looks like the midnight jaunt was just what she needed. Blood test today shows her calcium level is back to normal. |

Just got back from a midnight trip to the vets with mum, she had a calcium injection as she was beginning to get listless and starting to shake, she seems a lot happier now. We've got to take her back again in the morning. |
