My first car was a mini too steve, it was held together with brown masking tape, she was called millicent! The garage i px it with nearly drove it through the end of the garage as it has no brakes, had to use gears to slow it down or use handbrake,oh, those were the days.

Hi, Steve! Everyone ~~~~~~~~~~~~waves~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have just trading in my Ford Fiesta Flight (02) for a Suzuki Aldo GL (55). Not that happy!!! But the Road Tax is now £35 instead of £165!!!! Small but neat!!! Could put it in a matchbox and save on parking fees!!! lol !!!! But then, I drive less that 10,000 miles a year!

Hi Lindy, wasn't ignoring you.

Summer Scribe, it was me paying 45€ tax. Lindy on the mainland would pay more for the same vehicle. OH pays just over 16€ for a 1.4 diesel. The older they are the cheaper they are and diesels are cheaper to tax than petrol.

Friend has a red MGA, push button start. Great to see it around, although he has to carry a bottle of "lead" to put in the petrol.

First car was a Triumph Herald

my speakers were in the rear side pockets! My indicators beeped outside the vehicle, good for going round corners and warning kids etc!

Steve, you obviously ain't seen the state of property in my town, granted it wouldn't be big and in need of a bit updating but most of the housing stock in our town is. 5 years ago you could buy a 3 bedroom property for £35k LOL
