One of my biggest irritations is IGNORANCE

I hate ignorant people. Both online and in public. It really annoys me when people DELIBERATELY ignore you. Some people may not have heard you or read your posts but I know if someone is being ignorant and know they are being ignorant. Examples:-

Online I have commented on, dished advice on peoples posts and said hello to them and they have deliberately ignored me and a few others while talking to their friends on the site as they have logged in after my posts. Also, I have left "Hello" comments on sites such as Islandoo and the other member has deleted them as they disappear off their comments page yet they are charming with others. Why are people like that? I am trying to make conversation???

Lots of things could bug the life out of me but I'm too lazy to get irritated LOL

I have learnt that being irritated isn't good for your blood pressure.

Drivers who do not use their indicators.
Lazy drivers, ie those who take up 2 parking spaces, or cut corners badly.
People who spit.
People who don't say please/thank you.
People who forward e.mail articles which include 1000 other people's e.mail addresses.
Cold caller phone calls.
Customer service people with childlike sing-songy voices.
People who can't use a knife and fork, or eat, properly.
People who shout into their mobile phones so we ALL have to hear the one-sided conversation.
Newsreaders, weathermen, programme presenters who can't speak clear & proper English.
Lazy speakers.

That'll do for starters....I'm sure I'll think of more .
Back in a mo'. LOL

Hello Uggers:) - sorry, I think you said 'hi' last night!

What irritates me? Oh gawd, I could write a book...

Sticky price labels on things you buy which are almost impossible to remove without damaging the items........really irritating if it's a present for someone.

Overwrapped goods in shops........why are so many things in tightly sealed wrappers which then need something like a carving knife to try and get into? Even tools like hammers are coming in sealed plastic these days so you can't pick a tool up and get the feel of it before you buy it.

I also think chewing gum manufacturers should be compelled to make it quickly bio-degradable.

Books and mags you like to read, but that are film wrapped in shops so that you cant flick through it to see if it is good enough to buy.

Automatic voices on phones that say "The caller has not been recognised" when ytou know it is a valid number.

Steve Wright on radio 2, Ally McCoist and other presenters thinking that they are funny but are not.

Bus drivers who think they can talk to you like you are a piece of ****. I drive but when I occasionally get the bus, i find some drivers rude.

People who eat with their mouths open (yeeugh!)

Those presenters on shows like The One Show - who talk to each other about their likes and dislikes and their funny little ways - I'm not interested in them at all - they're not celebrities - who cares? Get on with the show and give us a bit of info on places and events that are going on ...

People on this site who never come back to one of their threads when I (and others) have posted info on it. And then they start another thread with much the same question. What's the matter with these people? Why don't they study the boards first? Why don't they ask questions? grrrrrr!

Drivers who drive in my boot (I keep slowing down and then speeding up a bit and then slowing down again - usually works but it's a bore)

Drivers who don't indicate? I always assume they're on their mobiles.

Other people's music - from their car stereos, in shops, anywhere - it's always horrible and if it's especially horrible it's always too loud!!

I think I might have to make a definitive list ... could take a while though!

Benjamin

Benjamin Report 16 Mar 2008 17:38

Jill, people who dont reply or come back to their threads is one of my pet hates as well. Especially people whot dont reply when you say hello or offer advice to them.

I think some people are naturally rude and dont know how to say thankyou or be polite.

Another one of my pet hates is loudmouth, noisy people who just want to be noticed be everyone. They shout and sing, make strange noises or shout out peoples names in a silly way. They just want to be noticed and I dont like people who are like that.

It is horrible to be serving a person who is talking on their mobile phone, and I am waiting to ask them a question regarding their purchase.

Loud mouthed bores and show-offs.

People who shout - yes - that gets me too. Yesterday walking down the high street had some silly man shout to his wife - she was several yards away but I happened to be right next to him. Surprised I didn't have a burst ear drum!

Teenagers who don't see me - is it because I'm past a certain age that I become invisible to the young? Mind you, I have sharp elbows and they usually (usually girls) tend to have lots of midriff!!

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!)

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!) Report 16 Mar 2008 18:09

Oh - and teenage girls mainly - low slung trousers/skirts and short tops and huge bellies! Put it away girls it's not pretty!

And thongs - why do some of them insist on wearing thongs - all you usually see is the grubby grey (once white) bit of thong sticking out of the top of their jeans which are usually stretched over a massive bum! What's that about? Don't they have mirrors or friends?
