The Cord
We are connected, My child and I, by An invisible cord Not seen by the eye.
It's not like the cord That connects us 'til birth This cord can't been seen By any on Earth.
This cord does it's work Right from the start. It binds us together Attached to my heart.
I know that it's there Though no one can see The invisible cord From my child to me.
The strength of this cord Is hard to describe. It can't be destroyed It can't be denied.
It's stronger than any cord Man could create It withstands the test Can hold any weight.
And though you are gone, Though you're not here with me, The cord is still there But no one can see.
It pulls at my heart I am bruised...I am sore, But this cord is my lifeline As never before.
I am thankful that God Connects us this way A mother and child Death can't take it away!

A Native American Poem
We are always together Even though we are apart Though distance may be between We are never separate in heart For when we are together We make beautiful memories So we are always close Even through mountains, vales, or seas Through the gentle whisper of breeze Or stars on a moonlit night Our love talks to our hearts With words made just right Our hearts are always one Though they may be two You are always here with me As I am always there with you

For all of you who have lost a beloved pet
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Letter from Heaven
To my dearest family some things I'd like to say But first of all to let you know that I arrived today, I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I shall dwell with God above Here, there's no more tears of sadness. Here is just eternal love. Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through God picked me up and hugged me and He said "I welcome you, It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone, As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on. I need you here badly, you are part of my plan There's so much that we have to do to help our mortal man." God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do And foremost on the list was to watch and care for you And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight God and I are closest to you . . in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on earth and all those loving years Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain. I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand But one thing is for certain though my life on earth is o'er I'm closer to you now than I ever was before. There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb But together we can do it by taking one day at a time. When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind And when it's time for you to go . . from that body to be free Remember you're not going . . you're just coming here to me.

Man in Grief
It must be very difficult To be a man in grief, Since "men don't cry" and "men are strong" No tears can bring relief. It must be very difficult To stand up to the test And field the calls and visitors So she can get some rest. They always ask if she's all right And what she's going through. But seldom take his hand and ask, "My friend, but how are you?" He hears her crying in the night And thinks his heart will break. He dries her tears and comforts her, but "stays strong" for her sake. It must be very difficult To start each day anew And try to be so very brave -- He lost his baby too.

If I can endure for this minute Whatever is happening to me, No matter how heavy my heart is Or how dark the moment may be-- If I can but keep on believing What I know in my heart to be true, That darkness will fade with the morning And that this will pass away, too-- Then nothing in life can defeat me For as long as this knowledge remains I can suffer whatever is happening For I know God will break all the chains That are binding me tight in the darkness And trying to fill me with fear-- For there is no night without dawning And I know that my morning is near.

Sorry but can't add, one a friend pm'd me is already on, and the one the vicar read out is so long and I can't remember it. All I know is the first line 'If you should wake and I'm not there '. There are some lovely verses on here, I will copy them.
