	Eileen, That is precisely why I talk about it continuously and have no qualms in letting everyone know what is going on. I realise I embarrass a lot of people by this attitude by that is the only way I can handle it. Even my brother has only telephoned me once because he said he didn't know what to say. For goodness sake I am still me... I haven't changed. My daughter, who also has cancer, has told me that a lot of her friends have lost touch with her because they can't handle her condition. Thanks goodness all my friends have rallied round and realised that the more I talk about it the better I can handle it and keep in constant touch with me. Jean x.

	My husband has had two different cancers plus various other complications and "interesting" conditions. He's now asked to come into the hospital once a year as a sample patient for post graduate doctors to have as someone to examine during their exams. He's not allowed to say a word though he often wishes he could give some of them a clue! Last year he'd just had bowel surgery so was too "interesting" but he did it again a few weeks ago. The first time four years ago he (and the consultant doing the testing) were amused because all the candidates confidently found my husband's spleen...........a neat trick since he had it removed about 8 years before and the long scar should have given a clue!! Keep smiling Jean.......people like you are useful as well as interesting. It really helps to stay as positive as possible. I've been told three times that my husband wasn't going to survive the night and he's still here.........he's now on annual checkups. Wishing you all the very best. Sue x
