Mining is a major major boom here,
but little johnny howhard threw in the gst and bang, everything that is a needed item got it, all personal items, they couldn't figure out how to put gst on chicken product, so now there is better than 20 bil in reserve and little johnny howhard says it's for the future, I ask, when does the future start?

I know its grim for a lot..and your right the banks are greedy...

if they indexed just the necessities instead of luxury goods too maybe things would be different. With the mining boom over here and money to burn on expensive cars plasma tvs etc it pushes everything up

It's not the price on the average house, it's the banks wanting bigger profit, they don't have to raise interest, all it does in the end is make people fail on payments or sell up, if they fail and the bank gets it, the assets go up for the bank, there is an expected 100,000 who may fail on payments this year.

Yep makes owning a home tough doesnt it....dont know how people even get into the market these days with the prices the way they are

trying to win lotto, will be good to own a house that is ours and notpaying all that interest to the back.
Just think of it, in aussie dollars;
house at $200,000,
30 yr mortgage, pay 12,000 per yr and the 200 is clear in 15 yrs, the other 15 yrs is all interest.
