Went to my Uncle' s 100th birthday party last October. At his 90th he was still discoing with the best of us right up by the speakers as he is profoundly deaf and he feels the music. At his 100th everyone gathered in the bar of the venue and then when we were to go into the function room someone was going to walk in with him, but he ushered everyone in first because he wanted to make his grand entrance. He's just fantastic - he'd lost his 2nd wife just a few months earlier and we thought he might not make his birthday because he was heart broken again and he became quite ill, but everyone rallied round to support him and he bounced back again. So resilient.

I'm only just in my 50s and I'm a great aunt. Do you have any great relatives born yet or still alive?

*$parkling $andie* Report 27 Feb 2010 20:12

Both, in tablet or capsule form, depending on what I'm washing in the machine, liquid for hand washing tho.

It's my Aunt's 90th birthday tomorrow,
How old is your eldest relative.?

I like to by classic pieces that will last, and just update with cheaper brands of seasonal fashion. However, shoes are my downfall, OH says I have too many pairs.

Do you use laundry powder or laundry liquid ?

*$parkling $andie* Report 20 Feb 2010 21:37

Really fed up with it,cos we have ice underneath the snow.
I bought one of those big orange snow shovels yesterday and is marvellous for fresh soft snow, clears it in a minute.

Are you wary of walking in the snow?

DizzieLizzie

DizzieLizzie Report 20 Feb 2010 08:57

After the main snows thawed we've had occasional small flurries since. There was a little bit yesterday that came to nothing and it's a possibility we'll get some next week too.

It's lovely at first when it's all fresh and snowmen get made and kids are playing snowballs, but aren't you getting a bit fed up with it now?

*$parkling $andie* Report 19 Feb 2010 23:05

I live in S Wales, if I lived nearer I would join the queue to try and get a ticket:)

Don't mind watching Rugby if someone has it on but not a great fan. I prefer tennis. When we lived nearer I used to take a picnic for the Wimbledon queue and usually had some strawberries to share out with people in front and behind us.

Have you ever been to Wimbledon?

No I manage my own nails. I'd rather go to the dentist than the hairdresser but I've been going for 2 yrs now..I just think of all the money I've saved over the yrs. My hair is curly and does it's own thing!!

Do you follow the rugby internationals now the 6 nations has started..?
