Like i say my father and most of his family used to get in the 'Hole in the wall' .. It was getting them out of it that was the problem. lol.

Blimey Col ..

Not heard of the blood tub for many a year. My father was a regular in there.. together with the 'Hole in the Wall' .. and no i dont mean a cashpoint.. lol.
I used to sit in the little anti room of the blood tub whilst my dad would pass me a vimto thru with a packet of crisps ... lol.
My grandmother and aunties were permanant fixtures of the 'hole in the wall'..though i used to be made to sit outside that place.. up the sidealley.

eee by gum ..them wert days.. lol.

Hi Sarah Ann Cooke and John Griffiths married in1861 Q4(and according to igi 7/11/1861 Ellesmere district.
Her 2nd husband was John Bullock(1880)
3rd husband Edward Blake.

She is the sister of my direct rellie.

lol blimey JJ ...

I used to knock around there in my younger days ..

Used to go to the fair on that little bit of waste land that was across the road from the seven stars, Used to drink in the stars often too.. ... used to work in Jack Merediths Motorcycle shop.. next door..
When i left the regulars i joined the TA and was stationed at 5LI in Coleham, Before moving up to the Barracks.

One of my sisters lives up in Meole Brace....

Well . . some memories came flooding back there.. lol

Are you definate it was called Bestford or might it have been Beresford? and was it in Shrewsbury?

Colin only got back as far as early 1800/late 1700,s on my Cooke family were at Ellesmere then. One owned a drapers shop there until early 1940,s i believe it was in the family.
