Right I think we have located your problem - at least in part.
There are various solutions depending on how confident you are with your computer. However, in this instance I think we may have to download some software to make it easy for you.
I would usually fix this either by physically having the computer in front of me or via remote access so I need to think of a fix you can do.

Steve have you had a look at the HJT log?

Colin flagged up a couple of things to me:

I think lxdacoms is connected to Downloader.

SearchAssistant can be removed with Spybot Search & Destroy.

Colin also drew attention to:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

but I think it is connected to Windows Live
