No death between 1984-2005. I'm not sure when he died at all.

His dob is meant to be sept 1916. I was cautious about that other one, should have checked if he'd died before just assuming.

I'm stumped now lol... Her father was born just too soon for mmn. I'm a bit intrigued how/why he went from London to the North East. I hop I have the right one but he's the only Thomas L in that time frame.

Thanks for looking for me, Susan I appreciate the help.

I have two possible births for her mother to choose from. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out if she knows her grandmother's maiden name.

SS we have to lie as much as our ancestors did. I still haven't told my Dad that his favourite aunt was probably his 1/2 aunt!

Have just this second found them 1938... she was only 18 then. I'm surprised but there you are lol

Thanks for the help. :-)

I was starting to worry that they hadn't married... wasn't looking forward to telling my Aunt lol.

Are you certain they married? I only ask because hubby and his brother were born 1943 and 1947 and we have spent about 4 years looking for their parent's marriage. I have looked at the marriage index over and over again and found nothing. We had previously found out hubby's father had been married before, so started to suspect that his parent's never actually married. Just at Christmas we had this confirmed by an elderly relative we haven't seen since starting on our family history.

Apparently a lot of marriages broke up between the war years and because divorce was expensive many people just lived as man and wife with another partner (and registered their children's birth as if they were married).

I'm bored going through quarter by quarter. I already went over the damn things once but going over again in case I missed some.

If interested. It's Margaret Armstrong to Thomas Leslie Pike (could even be Leslie Thomas) I've done 1944 - 1941 (twice might I add) I know they had a child in Jul 1944 so I'm working back from then.

So if you'd like to do a couple of years for me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :-)
Liz (who's all for sharing the pain...er...joy)
