Greeting’s again……… Caroline.

Sorry but I drew a blank for a Burial of Samuel Sanby 1850.
St. Mary the Virgin Parish Church. Ketton.
At the Records Office today…..Sorry.

But I did have that word with my Solicitor friend today…..

After reading the Will he said that I had made a fair translation of the Will…
Those legal wordings is just the way Solicitors put things in order that it can not be miss understood. ………
So we can go with the details for now….But I’m not give up the day job…..lol :0)))

That sounds a good move to order that Death Certificate then it will at lest pin point the death place ( I’m thinking now it is Stamford it’s self )

With these details we will be able to then ask for help from the Lincolnshire section on the other Genealogy Site for the finial resting place of Samuel and maybe Rebecca is reunited with him as well ?

Come back again when you have the details from that death certificate.
And we can take it from there.

Hello to all you lovely helpful people!
Can anyone help me, I am completely stuck! Trying to find a marriage between Thomas Kirkland (1834, Earl Shilton) and Mary (c.1838 Braunston(e), Leicestershire). They had (from what I can see) their 1st child in 1866, supposedly in Wolvey, although I think I have found births registered in Hinckley. By 1871 they were definitely living in Wolvey, so I am looking for a marriage sometime earlier than 1866, presumably somewhere in Leicestershire. Thomas was living in Earl Shilton in 1861. Have found one marriage on Ancestry to a Mary Clewes in Shardlow in 1856, but am not sure if that is the one, and 1837's images are illegible..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many many thanks
Sarah

Hi Elaine, thanks for that, I'm really lost here!
Thomas and Mary were witnesses at the wedding of George Chapman in Wolvey in 1867, which got me thinking that maybe Mary was nee Chapman and Georges sister/cousin/niece etc (long shot I know). Anyway I have now found a Mary Chapman born Braunston, Leicestershire, born in 1839 (on the 1851 census), so I have been searching her marriage out to see if anything fits! If this is my Mary, then she was living in leicester City, as a servant in 1851, but seems to appear to be living in Islington, with her family on the 1861, this then fits with the Islington marriage so I might check that out!
Am I making any sense anymore?!!
Thanks for the help again,
Sarah

Bingo!! Thanks Elaine - what was she doing in Islington and what was the relationship to George?! Onwards I go...!!

Hi again Mike,

Thank you, yes that is Alfred and his sister Sarah who were buried together.

I did go in search of their graves at welford road about a month ago, but sadly it was no longer there. Their parents graves were quite close by though so I left some flowers for them.

Thanks again, I will look at the nearby parishes you mentioned on my next visit to the records office.

Frazzled Report 3 Apr 2008 18:12

Hello again Mike

Thank you for looking for Samuel's burial, I think you are right it must be Stamford town. I noticed Samuel didn't mention 2 of his children in his will, James b1827 and Jane b1828. I am pretty sure I have found the death of Jane in 1847 and again it is Stamford.

I will order Samuel's death certificate tomorrow and then we shall get some answers!!

Thank you also for checking with your solicitor friend but I knew that you had made a great job as my legal adviser!! Another string to your bow!

Will be back when I have death cert.

Hi Mike,

Could you check out a marriage at St. Margaret's for me when you have time?

Richard Pool(e) and Hannah Abraham, 23rd August 1829.

I'm particularly interested in their abode and marital status, as well as the witnesses.

Thanks a lot,
Mary
