What was Edith's fathers name? Had she been married previously?
If you wish I will take a look and see if I can find her on the 1901 census.

This 1891 on findmypast seems to tie up with the 1881 except that Daniel beomes David. The image on this one cleary reads David. I have looked at the 1881 image and think that might be David too and that he has been mistranscribed as Daniel. Perhaps someone else can take a look at 1881 image for a second opinion.

Dont know for sure, but maybe they both reduced their ages by ten years for some reason I cannot explain!

Have you found the bride on any census?

Billy

Billy Report 5 Dec 2007 14:02

The Marraige took place in Bury and yes it was blackburn

Billy

Billy Report 5 Dec 2007 14:01

The bride was aged 39 on the Marriage cert but again she was actually 49

KeithInFujairah

KeithInFujairah Report 5 Dec 2007 13:57

If that is him, he was a pauper in the workhouse.

What age was his bride on the marriage cert?
Where did the marriage take place?

Am I correct with the birthplace of Daniel (ie Blackburn)?

Billy

Billy Report 5 Dec 2007 13:53

Billy, have you found the birth registration for the one born in 1874? What age was his bridge on the marriage certificate?
Could it have been that he reuced his age to be nearer to his brides age?

Have you found Daniel on the 1901 census? If so what age was he then?

Billy

Billy Report 5 Dec 2007 13:41

I have my Grandfathers Marraige cert dated the 21/08/1918 ( Daniel Ingham ) and on it . it says he was aged 34, so he was born in 1884 and his father was William Ingham who was a cotton card room jobber. BUT when i go back 34 years to 1884 i cannot find Daniel with a Father William, so i checked the 1891 census and still nothing But if i go back even further to 1881 census i find a william who was a cotton card room jobber with a son daniel aged 7 meaning that Daniel was actually 44 and born in 1874 is this possible. Its doing my head in and as you can see i am only on to my grand parents H E L P .
Regards
Billy
