Oh Yes, I thought I had seen the name Albutt before - and don't forget I live in Lincolnshire so if you want me to nip to the record office and look for a burial (I know that won't tell you anything really, but you never know the vicar might have written 'comes from Whitstable' - I live in hope)..seriously though Sue if you want me to look for anything it is no problem.. |

There were Albutts in Bromsgrove as early as the 1600s. |

I quite fancy this earlier William (in IGI batch P020912) as the father of the William who married Jane. That gives us three generations of William Swifts and takes us back to Wendy's 3x great grandparents. |

As I cannot see a Harry Louis Swift birth registration, the nearest one I can find is this one.. |

Yes she does fit in nicely with the census details though, right age and place of birth.....along with hundreds of others probably... |

Wonder if William could have married Ann Allbutt |

Sue in Somerset | Report | 1 Dec 2007 00:03 |
This might be the marriage of William and Jane |

Yes, think he is a Nailer on the 61, there is a big gap between children....had he been somewhere or like you say married to two Ann's or just lost children... |

I think this is probably the birth of father William |

The daughter is definitely Mary Ann Swift. There are no Mary Janes of the right age anywhere near. |

Had another look at his pension record and it says he was in India between 19th November 1897 and January 1903. |
