Maybe if you emailed Cambridgeshire record office and asked them to look at the marriage in Eltisley for you. They could then tell you if Hannah was a widow or not and maybe if from the parish of Croxton.

Caroline, we're probably related somewhere in the 'dim & distant past'. Have you ever had a look at the web site for the Sole Society?

Bascat, I thought you meant the Camdex web site not the CFHS.

Another GR member has offered to do a 'look up' at the CRO - 'fingers crossed'.

Bascat, just to let you know, Hannah Sewell was a 'widow of Croxton' so very most likely she is in fact my Hannah Saywell.

It's a minefield having Saywells and Sewells in the family.

Margaret, thats absolutelty brilliant. Now you know what happened to her. She was there all the time, taking the proverbial.

I had a 2x g.grandma like yours. She seemed to disappear after hubby died. Found out in the end, she upped to London and remarried.

O the joys of genealogy.


By the way, did you find that Brown baptism on Camdex in the end.
