Hi Mike, thanks for your help.
Jane Hamer Wells is my gt grandmother. I have her birth cert and she was the illegitimate daughter of Jane Wells.
By accident I found she had a brother called Richard Hamer Wells who was born and died between census'.
As their mother called them both Hamer for a middle name, I thought maybe their father's last name was Hamer and maybe he had died.
I will look into what you have got for me,
Thanks again,
Vicky

Glad he made it to .....Ruff bra…….
Re Angel vacancies…….Ummm ? Seems it’s a bit of a “ BUM JOB” so to speak….. Due to the job descriptions…….. Claus III.(a)……Being able to withstand having a Christmas Tree stuck where the sun doesn’t shine…..24/7.
I don’t think that would be you really.

Seasonal Greeting’s Gillian……
Using the resources I have to hand …….
Phillimores Early Leicestershire Marriage Registers 1574. ~ 1837.
Confirmation of Marriage
St. Bartholomew’s Parish Church. Quorndon.
3rd. October. 1602.
Humfrey Greasly. ~ Dorothy Hynde. Both of this Parish. By Banns.
BAPTISMS OF NOTE :~
Humfrey Greasly. 25th. May. 1585. Father :~ Willm.
Humfrey Greasley. 29th. June. 1608.
Father :~ Hum. Greasly.
It seems that 1574. is when Quorndon Parish Registers started Plus years 1642. through to 1671.Are missing…… Lost But Seeing these years were when the English Civil Wars were going on then most Parishes either destroyed or hid them until they were returned to them 1660. onwards
I can but have a look at what Records are held at the Records Office When I start visiting again in the New Year.

Hi Mike
Thank you so much for taking the time to look into Humphry Greasley for me - I really am stuck on this realative and dont know where to go next in order to ' go beyond' him & find further ancestors (particularly his mothers details and obviously his fathers family) - so any help from you in the New Year woudl be most appreciated.
Having found that nearly all my ancestors derive from Leicester / shire, I have looked with interest at your thread over the last few months. You have been so 'giving' / 'informative' and 'humerous' -
Thank you once again on behalf of all!
Merry Christmas Gillian

Just discovered more Leicester born folk in my tree. Ann Marshall born in the village of Hoton in 1838, daughter of William and Hannah. William was also born there, in 1816. I have them on all census records, but don't know Hannah's maiden name.

Seasonal Greeting’s & Welcome back…….Mick from the Bush.
Is this William part of the same Family as your Nanne Harrison. married to Daniel Winterton. Who I helped you with a while back ?
I need to search the Baptism Registers in the New Year at the Records Office For his Baptism ……..Remember that BIRTH records did not come in till middle of 1837. Therfore only a Baptism record will be found But if the Church Minister / Vicar was kind he could have recorded the birth date in the left hand margin......
But in the meantime from my Phillimores early Leicestershire Marriage Disc :~
There you Go…………….
MARRIAGE :~
All Saints Parish Church. SOMERBY. Leicestershire. 15th. May. 1802.
William Harrison. Of Thurmaston Parish signed as HARRISSON Millicent FEBBS. Of this Parish. By LICENCE.
Therefore extra information will also be available through the Marriage Bonds System held at the Records Office. Will you require a photo copy of both above Registers when I go ?
Thurmaston Baptisms worthy of note :~
1806. 7th. September. Millicent. Daughter of Wm & Millicent Harrison 1810. 13th. May. William son of William & Millicent Harrison.
Other Baptisms worthy of note for now :~ 1749.9th. May. William. Son of Thomas & Martha Harrison. QUENIBOROUGH. 1751.24TH.April. William. Son of Robert & Elizabeth Harrison. QUENIBOROUGH.

Thank you so much Mike, that is marvellous. The first mentioned Wm Harrison (bapt 1802) who married the Tebbs (believe it must be Tebbs as one of Daniels sons later married an Eliz Tebbs in Thurmaston), must be the brother of my Nanny/Nanne Harrison. - The Wm I am pursuing is her father. A photocopy probably wont be necessary - i trust your excellent skills at reading old handwriting! Regards Michael W
