John, please look in http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/ for her baptism:
it does not give her exact date of birth nor baptism but does give the names of her parents: http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/2f5c840039243

Her marriage certificate will give further details of use to you.

It is so very difficult to find details of my Grandmother, BRIDGET DOWLING. She was born in Dublin during the late 1890.ss and married William SYME from Clackmannanshire, Scotland. Grandad Syme was a member of the British Army and my Father James St James Syme was boprn in 1924 at Tralee.
If you can help me in any way to trace any relations I may have in Dublin, then I would be GREATLY obliged to you.
Regards,
John SYME

An addition on Familysearch.org I have just come across is the addition of 3.12 million records - Ireland Prison Registers 1790-1924 and yes my Gtgrandfather was such a naughty boy.

I Googled

'County Dublin Towns and Registration Districts'

and found a list which you can copy, save and print.

Helps to know which part of Dublin County a Town's Registration District is in.

Haven't googled other Counties though!

Hi Helen

It depends on what approx dates you are looking for and whether it's Northern Ireland or Southern Ireland.

Have a look at the 2 websites below and it will give you details of when RC and non RC records began and how to order

http://www.groni.gov.uk/index.htm For Northern Ireland BDM’s

http://www.groireland.ie/ For Southern Ireland (Eire)
for Southern Ireland's New website below to order the certificates on line.
http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/find_a_service/bdm/certificates_ie

http://www.irishgenealogy.ie is a Free website with thousands of Baptism and Marriages records but NOT all of Ireland is covered.
Just go to Search Records and enter a name and it will come up with the Church records in the different areas that are on line at the moment.

Thank you for these great links Teresa - I've finally found the reason why I started all this, I've found details of the ancestors who brought my family from Ireland to England. Can you help me in how to get a copy of the certificate?

Thank you so much for this, I have found my ancestors who brought the family over to England. These are the ones that I first got into family research for.
I just need to find out how I can get a copy of their marriage certificate now.

Many thanks, loads of useful info here.
