Betty, after scanning the photo it went directly to My Documents.

On my computer I have Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Photo Editor, plus Nikon digital something or other and probably others if I care to look.

I've tried scanning several photos and BMD Certs., but always have the same problem.

A couple of years ago, I attempted to send, via e-mail, a photograph - after about two hours the recipient gave up - the picture would have been approx. 6ft x 4ft.

I'll never get the hang of this!

Margaret if you are still there go to the top of the page where messages are I will send you my e-mail address and sort the picture for you if you like. Just click on messages and you will see my e-mail address. I think you are just saveing your picture the my documents instead of microsoft picture section.

Ok Margaret,

Where are your pictures on your computer?? After you scanned it where did it go. Do you have somewhere on your computer that you keep all your pictures or is this th only picture you have scanned before.

Betty, I'm not too sure what you mean by, where I store my photos? This is an old photo (an original) it's kept with several others in a small suitcase.

Barry, how do I reduce the resolution on my scanner? As far as I can make out, I have no options - the item is scanned regardless!

Thanks,

M. Steer

Hi Margaret,

Do you store your pictures in your picture section on the computer?

When it comes to computers I'm not 'the brightest button' but I manage. The one thing though, that I've never get to grips with is scanning.

I can scan things O.K., but they always end up as enormous files.

I wanted to send a photo to my cousin via e-mail. The original photo is no more than 4" x 3" (probably less) - I put it in the scanner, it scanned, I looked at the 'preview' - everything O.K. It was automatically 'saved' to My Documents. The size of the file was over 16 million bytes.

It seems that no matter what the size of the 'original' everything I scan is gigantic.

How do I overcome this?

My scanner is an Epson perfection 4870.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

M. Steer
