Maggie, I wonder why this site is banned in the workplace .... lololol its possible Henrietta Maud married a much older man and there is that death entry for a man in his 60s, 1943 wasnt it? only the marriage certificate or parish record will confirm his age. but the reason Paul needs to know about William as well as Henrietta is to find out if they had siblings with descendants who would be interested in learning about Patricia. she may be gone in sad circumstances, but it is even more sad she is also forgotten. c xx

hi Huia, there is a posting on page 11 by Telly Addict, with a very long website, and its this which is causing a white page - one of the anomalies of this site, and another thing that causes white pages is if people do long rows of dots ....... have been guilty of this myself :) hi Paul, the school intake age is different now to what it used to be, Patricia would have started school in the Sep of the academic year she turned five, so she should have been at school but as things were muddled due to the war she might not have been attending school at all. these days, its the nearest school term to the birthday. c xx

Hi Paul, I don't know what month in 1939 Patricia came to Morganstown. The information to date says she was five. She would have been 5 in the March of 1939 so I think she may not have started School until the following September. Never having children I do not know how school ages work. On Wednesday I am hoping that the Cardiff Rural Committee records will be available for me to view so I will ask about School Logs when I'm there. Many thanks Paul

What has happened to p11? I thought it was blank but when I scrolled down I found it started further down and was full width of the screen and then some. I had to keep sliding the page back and forth sideways to read it. I am finding this story very interesting. I love a good mystery!

Kate That's a great idea - may I add that if anyone's going to Kew in the near future, it'd be worth looking at the microfilm Soldiers' Service Records too. There would be a lot more info besides his age - probably family details too ... parents, siblings. However, if his service went beyond 1921, his papers will be in Glasgow and would need a special application - as you may already know. Regs Annie

Hi I have been following this sad story from the start. please correct me if i am not thinking straight. Her father may have fought in WW1 so he maybe in the pension list on ancestry there are a few from that neck of the woods. So we my beable to find when we get his age. They both may have come from up there and travelled down there where he was stationed. I would find it hard to think that if he was a gunner on the birth cert. that in would be in the RAF later on. ( my rellie came out of army and went back in the army when need.same as hubby and father would go back in RAF if called up). Keep up the good work Paul and all. kate

I dont think that any of the contributors to this thread have given information re the registrar's informant for Patricia's death. Her death certificate has not been purchased, has it? however, Patricia's father was the registrar's informant on her birth certificate. so one of those William Armstrong death entries could well apply to Patricia's father. c xx

This is such an interesting and sad story. Thanks paul for bringing it to everyone's attention. It is so nice that even 60 years later people still care about patricia and her family.

If we really think her father was a prisoner of war, then records will be held by the Red Cross, Geneva.
