This has been the most touching ' Sad Tale '... May I suggest that once all the info has been collected someone ( Paul ) gets in touch with a National newspaper ?? The ' Daily Telegraph ' have run similar stories in the past & have had success in finding the family of the subject in the storyline. Just a thought anyway...after all Patricia's family could now be living anywhere in the UK. Margaret. |

Update from Woolwich No marriage certificates - fingers crossed for tomorrow (Wednesday). Probate - I checked visited the probate office today (wills & administrations) for William Armstrong - nothing with a SE London address - given we don't know when/where he died it was a bit of a long shot. Also checked for both Hetty and George Francis - nothing. Rachel |

OOw and what about the family she was staying with? The two boys might still be around now? |

I just thought the same thing! How about those Harris Boys? Although they might not want to recall such a shocking time in their lives either. This story is so interesting and I am checking back frequently!! Patricia seems to have found a place in all our hearts!! |

Hello All, Maggie, thanks for the information about “MY LIFE MY WAR” By Bernard Hallas. I’ll have not read it all yet but it does look interesting. I thought the best thing to do now is to give an update. Finding out all about Patricia and her family was not likely to be that easy or quick. I think that to date, we have all done very well. There is bound to be down time while waiting for certificates and or email replies and also following up leads which may or may not be dead ends. Win will be searching the Parish Archives on Thursday and I hope the records of the Cardiff Rural District minutes, June 1943 are available for me to view tomorrow at the GRO. Roy Harris who I have been trying to contact is living in America. He is the grandson of Arthur Harris and was over here visiting recently. While visiting he did search for Patricia's grave but I don't think he found it. Again, we believe that Patricia’s friend is still in contact with him. Win will tell her next time they speak that we are trying to contact him. He will also ask if she or Roy has a photo of Patricia so a face can be put to her name. Again many thanks for all your help, encouragement and interest shown. “She is not alone” Bye for now. Paul |
