The tree has been updated with the information received from certificates plus a back log of research emails - so please take a look it now contains over 400 individuals.

I’m looking for help with some of the research currently on the table – so if you can spare us some time and have access to BDMs (GR, findmypast or what ever) from 1920s to date (well 2005) and are prepared to trawl the registers then please PM me.

Want to see the tree - then please PM me

Many thanks

Update

Just to let you all know what's been going on. Number of certificates were ordered and arrived - the details were posted earlier in the week.

We have now confirmed eight of Theresa Silmon (Wilson/Hayes') children - with another two as ‘strong’ possibles - awaiting confirmation.

One of the birth certs ordered proved to have no connection and the tree will be adjusted accordingly - a separate post will be made when that's complete.

We subsequently, ordered more, in order to validate a few key marriages and a death cert (hoping for a spouse or child to be the informant to give us a lead) but unfortunately they didn’t arrive as hoped (Friday) so fingers crossed for Monday (pretty please Mr Postman). Once these arrive a number of new lines of research will become apparent.

Hot Matches came through and emails sent to possible connects - will have to see what these bring. One in particular has already proved to be a positive connection, who has been able to fill in some gaps.

Postman permitting – I’ll give another update tomorrow

Thanks
Rachel

With regards the Barrow marriage/link... if there's anything you need looking up, I'm there... It would be good to be able to contribute something to the project. Just let me know, but allow at least 10 days as I'm away.

A nudge to catch up with part 1

Patricia

Patricia Report 5 Sep 2007 10:45

The tree has been updated with all this information - so please take a look. Our efforts are now concentrating on identifying the (numerous) children of Theresa Silmon and her two husbands: for details see the tree.

A not so easy task as four, possibly five, children were born prior to mothers maiden name appearing in the registers. Some names have been eliminated due to closeness of confirmed births or certificates purchased that have confirmed that assumptions were just that – assumptions!!

We have more certificates on order to confirm links – which are due later this week.

Thanks to everyone for your support, encouragement and research help – this has been invaluable in helping identify new lines of investigation.

If you'd like to see the tree please PM me.

Many thanks
