Hi, Great to see so much more has been found out this weekend. I'm trying har to catch up and keep up at the same time. I have added a few pieces of info to the ancestry tree including photos of Sara Jane & Mohamed/William De Weld Silmon, and Sara Jane's sister Teresa Monaghan (my great great gran). I also have a wedding cert for Sara Jane & Mohamed that I will upload there as soon as I have time. Thanks Nikki

I too have been looking for the tree on Ancestry and can't find it.

There is a public tree on Ancestry, http://trees(.)ancestry(.)co(.)uk/pt/person.aspx?tid=3429187&pid=-1735522717&pg=0 Cut and paste and then remove the three sets of brackets - leaving the dot. There is also now one on GR which is an import from a personal tree on Ancestry. In order to get this to work a GR account has been created in the name of Patricia. I'll post another message from that account and then I can give you access. Thanks Rachel

hi everyone after a tip off from nicola chapman I have spent a good couple of hours reading all the messages. my husband is also connected to this family tree through teresa moneghan. I have asked around and no one in the family had heard this story. however have managed to find out that henrietta would have been able to divorce in the eyes of the law after 7 years if her husband had 'abandoned her' even though the divorce may not have been recognised by the catholic church. so if her husband had spent a long time in hospital - or maybe could just not face going home after the war and the death of her daughter - she could legally divorce him without his consent. The catholic church would not recognise the divorce, and subsequently not allow her to remarry in a catholic church. but we know her second marraige was registry office (if I remember the notes correctly). I am also making enquiries into the RA reference - not sure this will bring up anything new. Has anyone pursued the angle of records from the train company? if I can do anything to help let me know fantastic job and thanks to everyone involved.

Update from Woolwich I went to First Avenue House (Probate & Divorce records in London) Henrietta Maud Armstrong – Petitioner William Armstrong – Respondent [blank] - Co-Respondent Decree Nisi – 9th February 1963 Decree Absolute – 13th May 1963 Unfortunately, it doesn't give a reason for the divorce - separated for 7yrs, abandonment etc George and Henrietta lived at the same address for over 20 years prior to their marriage in July 1963 - I wonder what changed to make them get married? Just to let you all know, I have been into Newcastle today and ordered the following Certificates. Theresa Wilson and her marriage to John Hayes 1916 Newcastle. The Birth of John G Hayes MMN Wilson 1917. Newcastle. The Birth of Cecilia Wilson Newcastle 1909. We really have a hunch on this. *Updated after posting* Think we may have boo booed on this one. Lol. The Marriage of John G Hayes to Annie Maxwell. 1942 Tynemouth. Going on past Certifiicates I have ordered in person in Newcastle, I could get them tomorrow. Fingers Crossed. I think you can only access the family tree on Ancestry if you are a member. However somebody kind has put her details on GR as well. Just type in Patricia Armstrong in the Quick Search above and she is on page 10 - born 1934 Plumstead, London, Kent. I think from there you can message the person who set her up and get them to open up the tree to you.
