Linda Richardson The Family Records Centre is situated at 1, Myddelton Street in London. There you can search the birth indexes for your Gran and Grandad. Since you know their dates of birth, this should be very easy. You can then order copies of their birth certificates, which will show their parents' names. This should set you on your way to tracing your family history. If you can not get to London, and know where Gran and Grandad were born, you could contact that local registration office and attempt to trace their birth details that way. Alternatively, on the 1 April a new website called 1837online goes live which will enable you to search via the internet. There will be a charge, but if you have no other option, it will be a lifeline!! Good luck. |
