Lynne coakley- IGI is the International Genealogical Index on the Mormon site-www.familysearch which is a transcription of certain christenings marriages and deaths, as far as I am aware every Mormon has to trace their ancestry so they can have a retrospective sealing ceremony to make them Mormons which is why they do so much research. The index can give some really good clues in your research, see my tips on using batch nos to trace siblings once you have got the right person. By the way on the same site under all resources I entered Edward with a father Patrick and came up with 2 on the 1881 census, one c in 1867 in Northwich and one c in 1872 in Lufbra. Where did he get married? By the way the christening dates on the IGI don't always refect the month of birth. I have ancestors who waited until their last child was born and had them all christened on the same day- I suppose it saved money-- a canniness which has passed down the genes to me as you will have gathered if you have ever read my tips! |
