Christine Goodman The 'age' space on the FreeBMD search applies to age at death, and then only from 1866. Age at marriage doesn't appear on the indexes, only on the certificate, and for many marriages, especially in the early years of registration, actual ages weren't recorded. Instead the marriage certificate will show "Full Age"(FA) - ie 21 or over - or "Minor" - ie 12-20 for the bride or 14-20 for the groom. Hope this helps you. |
