I suffered the duplicate names problem. It seems likely that you can only access the name with the multiple connections, while the other instance hides 'behind' it. My solution was to temporarily change the visible name. This enabled me to access and delete the singly connected version. Obviously I then had to change the original back to its rightful name. It is also possible to access details for surnames not in your own tree by making a temporary change to someone who is in your tree. This is particularly useful where a surname has alternative spellings. |
