Andrew Microfilmed copies of the records are usually held at libraries which have a family history section. The originals tend to be held in central libraries, for example, Manchester holds all the original parish records for the surrounding areas. You can view the originals by arrangement with the library by booking the ones you want to see in advance. If you find that you require more whilst you are there they will retrieve them from the archives for you. This usually takes about 1 hour. I'm fairly sure that you are not allowed to take a copy the original, but can take a print from the film in a local library. Jane |
