Catherine Tanner Thanks for your suggestion but guess what? Straight after I posted the message I re-checked the 1837 records and HEY PRESTO!!! I found a marriage record for my John Michael Humphreys. I then realised that the day I spent 4 hours looking for the marriage at the FRO - and ended up with a headache - I had obviously missed it because at that time I didn't know he had a middle name. I checked back in my notes and there was a matching record for Alice!! I'm over the moon now and can't wait to get onto the Reg Office for the certificate. They're closed now so will have to wait till Monday. This is a real breakthrough for me and I think this site and everyone who uses it is great!! (Sorry for rambling on but I'm so excited)!!!
