I have found a rather 'naughty' way to trace my relatives. I knew one Attwood family moved from Shropshire to Huyton around 1882. There were no Attwoods in Huyton 1881 Census, so it followed that any Attwood living there today was likely to be a descendant of this family. But nobody on GC was from this area, so I tried Friends Reunited and put in Huyton school. Found a pupil with right surname and emailed him (cost me £5 to join as full member)and he's since got back to me with lots of family names, right back to his G Grandad. All I have to do is get a copy of G Grandad's marriage cert and hopefully it will prove I have found a new 'cousin'. It's a little bit sneaky, but it worked for me!!!!! P.S. Thanks very much Lee! |
