Advice please!! I have an ancestor named Ellen Cree who appears on the 1881 census, living with her mother, younger sister Lillian and lodgers. The census states she was aged 7 and born in Bolton. I have traced Lillian's birth certificate but cannot find any record of Ellen's birth. I have applied to Southport giving her mother's name but they have not located the record.(It appears both girls were illegitimate and their mother Ellen later married the lodger). Can anyone tell me where I go from here. Any help would be much appreicated. Lynne Sale |
