William William Quite right, diolch yn fawr. (?) With a name like yours, boyo, of course you should know the spelling and the pronunciation! What I should have said is that on the 1881 census I searched for the name Coulby and the word DOULAIS in Monmouth as I thought of Dowlais, too. I found quite a few spelled that way and not all in the same districts. So do we still have a mystery? Haven't yet heard what the 1881 ref is yet, for me to be able to check. Cheers Vera |
