Try www.ellisislandrecords.com. It's an excellent site with a wealth of US Immigration records, a first class search engine - and it's free! Regards Stuart McPherson |

Hi All Would any of you Genealogists out there be able to give me an idea of where I could look (preferably online) for Emigration/Ships records. I have a distant ancestor who emigrated to America at the age of 2 in 1881. He doesnt appear on the UK 1881 census, so it must have been earlier in that year. I am trying to find his parents, so presumably if I can find a passenger list, I should get some clues as to who he travelled with! Hopefully someone can help me, 'cos I am really stuck with this one! Thanks Sally, Coventry |
