Hi Vera and June Guess I didn't miss much then! Beryl, thanks for posting the message about York. I may try and get to that one, depending on what I'm doing that weekend. It sounds like it's worth a visit. Lynne

I haven't managed a visit to the Yorkshire Family History Fair yet, but understand from those that have that it is excellent. It is on Saturday 28th June this year at York Racecourse. 10.00a.m. to 4.30.p.m. Admission is £2.50. Beryl. Co.Durham.

Lynne, I was disappointed,I did take money hoping to buy some CDs,but I only spent £4.95 on a book. As Vera says it was a lot of books and more books. There were some microfiche readers there for sale, but I'd rather have CDs, but they hadn't got the ones I wanted. After hearing Vera's comments, I think I'll try another (hopefully better) one.I hope the lady we were talking to on the station is reading this as she was a bit disappointed too. We did have a very nice lunch though! June,Preston

Hello all I went to the Buxton FH Fair last Sunday and I can only say that there wasn't as much there as at the Stockport FH Fair last April. In Buxton it was mainly books, a few Census CDs, the Alan Godfrey Maps, family tree Charts and more Books. It was a small fair in comparison and I am sure that others will have more variety. I was a little disappointed that there were only a few Family History Societies in attendance - Cheshire, Derbyshire and Yorkshire. I shall be posting the other Fairs in advance - so keep looking. I was a very good girl and only took the cash for the book I wanted and that is all I spent. Hubby paid for the Sunday lunch, the day was fine and we enjoyed the visit to Buxton - even drank the water from St Ann's Well!! Vera, Manchester

June I was supposed to be going to the fair and had arranged to meet Vera (Bromage) there. Unfortunately my brother in law was taken ill and I couldn't make it. What was it like? Lynne Sale

I went to my first Fair at Buxton, I enjoyed it but it wasn't quite what I expected, can anyone tell me, if all the fairs are like that or are some better than others?
