If he lived in Manchester you should contact the manchester and lancashire family History society email [email protected] or web site www.mlfhs.org.uk Vic Cliffe

Have you tried the Library? And the Local Council? I would suggest looking in the library local to where he lived while doing the tree, and also the library where the majority of ancestors originate from (if you know it). The Local Councils also may have something - as it was of local social and historical importance. -Kate

Does anyone have any idea where I might look for a possible copy of a family tree that my husband's grandfather created in the 1940's/50's. The tree was lost after his death but given that it was his life's work and went back to Norman times I wonder if he lodged a copy somewhere - he lived in Manchester.
